A Night with Saint Padre Pio – a 20th Century Saint
On the feast of St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, come and learn about this Italian Franciscan priest and mystic who lived in the 20th century, and was consumed by a desire to suffer for the transgressions of mankind. For the last 50 years of his life, he bore the marks of stigmata (the wounds of Jesus) on his hands, feet, side, and chest. People were drawn to him from all over the world to the little town of San Giovanni Rotondo to encounter a living saint, to hear him say Mass, go to confession, receive his blessing and many times later experience a miracle. Prayers for healing continue to be heard to this day. We will conclude with a prayer and an opportunity to venerate a relic received during a Pilgrimage in 2002 by Deacon Joe & Rose. The relic comes directly from a cloth used to dry the blood from the chest of St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina.
