We are a community proclaiming the Gospel in the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church - encountering Christ and empowered to bring Him to the world.
DEAR FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF ST.JOHN VIANNEY PARISH,
Praised be Jesus Christ, our Savior.
Since it was established in 1959, Saint John Vianney Church has been a spiritual home to many people. It is the place where we and countless families before us baptized their children, learned the Good News, and were strengthened by the Holy Spirit in Confirmation. I'm sure many of you have fond memories of First Communions and Christenings, or of enjoying zeppole with friends at the Fair in July.
But, as time goes on, our parish home is showing her age. She needs some tender loving care. These repairs go beyond what can be done with our typical operating costs and must be addressed to ensure the safety and security of our spiritual home.
The facilities which form our parish home - the Church and school and rectory and convent and even our parking lot - are a gift to us from those who went before us. Indeed, many of you reading this letter know some of these people - and some of you are even among them. We owe it to them - and to our Lord - to do our part to pass Saint John Vianney Parish on in good condition to those who follow us in faith.
This campaign, as outlined in the brochure, is an attempt to do just that. It does not address all needs but those identified as most significant at this time, based on parishioners' feedback. Please take some time to prayerfully read through this brochure and consider your own commitment to responding to this project with generosity and gratitude.
After reading it, I ask that you prayerfully consider your own commitment to this project and be open to responding with generosity and gratitude. Our gifts to this campaign are a concrete way of showing our love for our parish, our commitment to our family of faith today and in the future, and a testimony to our faith in Jesus Christ.
Finally, please say a prayer for our parish today, asking God to always make us all He wants us to be. While you're at it, please also say a Hail Mary for me.
You are in my prayers every day.
Faithfully,
Fr. John J. Barbella Pastor
