Baptism
Baptism is the first sacrament of the church and is typically recieved during the first year of the child's life but can be received anytime before 7 years old. Baptism removes original sin, welcomes the child into the Catholic Church as a follower of Christ, and gives the graces needed to live as His disciple. Baptism of children must be requested by the parent or guardian.
Baptism is offered on the first 4 Sundays of the month at 1:30 PM (after the 12 pm Mass).
Requirements are:- Registration in the parish
- Parents and Godparents attend Baptism preparation classes
- Arrangements must be made at least THREE MONTHS prior to date of baptism.
- A maximum of 2 godparents/sponsors - one male and one female.
- Must have at least one Roman Catholic godparent.
- Non-Catholic Christians can be a Christian witness (not recorded on Baptismal Record)
- Godparents need verification of being fully initiated Roman Catholics belonging to a Catholic church. (verified by Sponsor Certificate)
